Welcome to Reflections Therapy

Private counselling session in Wirral with a qualified therapist. Reflections Therapy at Heswall Hills building

Wirral Counsellor

My name is Jenny McNeill (MBACP). I am a Person-Centred Wirral counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

Just as we take care of our physical well-being, it is important to take care of our emotional well-being. Investing in your mental health can be one of the most positive things you can do for yourself.  Therapy can open the door to greater self-awareness, better coping mechanisms, healthier relationships and rediscovery of meaning in your life.

I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor, which means I can work with various therapeutic approaches to support each of my individual clients’ preferences. I can integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA) when appropriate, using self-reflective tools and resources that help you to understand yourself and continue to work outside of sessions.

Person-centred therapy puts you at the heart of the counselling process, allowing clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. Most importantly, I am here to listen to you, understand and accept you, empathise with you, and support you through any issues or struggles you may be facing.

Alongside being a counsellor, I have over 20 years of experience working within the Criminal Justice System. My experience includes but is not limited to working with vulnerable adults, substance misuse, depression, anxiety, neurodiversity, abuse, trauma and loss. I have experience working with undiagnosed and late-in-life diagnoses of ADD/ADHD, autism and other conditions under the neurodiverse umbrella. I have developed a good understanding of the stress and pressures of the demanding work environment and professional burnout.

The combination of my personal/work experiences and volunteer work has helped shape the person and the counsellor I have become today.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). The BACP is dedicated to ensuring professional and ethical practice amongst counsellors.
